Hi  -- this is my first post ever -- but is there a possibility that the mother is being asked to give the baby "Tri-vi-sol" which contains vitamin D? This would explain the diary allergy -- ped wants to make sure baby is still getting vitamin D if the nursing mom is eliminating dairy for her diet.
