Several  people have also quoted different ages for menarche in  
different populations. It would be interesting for someone to do a  
study to see if there is a correlation between the percentage that  
breastfeed in that population and the age of menarche. Wendy, glad  
you found the date on that, I knew it was at least ten years ago.   
Could you check at the Weizman Institute and see if there have been  
any more recent studies?  I, too, am puzzled as to why this isn't in  
our books and generally publicized as one of the advantages.
