Greetings from Berkeley CA,
Interesting discussion on this topic. I never thought that growth spurts
caused this behavior, but I have seen many an older child be very hungry in
periodic bursts as well.
I am wondering if the baby is also doing some brain work at this time, where
the baby is fine tuning their understanding of how to upregulate or
downregulate milk production. This would become useful when needed over the remaining
months or years of breastfeeding.
