Andrea,

Excellent topic.  I would suggest, however, that you express it in terms
that reflect breastfeeding as the norm rather than formula as the norm.
Breastfeeding does not confer higher IQs.  It contributes to NORMAL IQs.
Formula, on the other hand, lowers the potential IQ of each infant.  I know
that in quoting articles, you will have to use their wording, but I would
hope that you would use terminology that reflects breastfeeding as the
standard in your own writing.

This is a major problem in so much literature.  Moms tend to see
breastfeeding as a sort of "extra credit" where formula is seen as normal
and therefore an OK choice.  Breastfeeding comes across as a nice little
extra if you chose to do it.  What most parents and professionals miss is
the fact that artificial feeding shortchanges the infant and keeps him/her
from achieving full potential in many aspects of life.
