On the Ameda pump pressure gauge you read the inside numbers not the outside
numbers. This gauge has a circle and two numbers, one above and one below
the circle. You stick the gauge in the flange and turn on the pump and get a
reading. The one below reads in milibars of mercury, I think, and is the
correct number to read when testing pumps. Kind of confusing but there must
be a need for the outer numbers (I don't know what it would be). Also, you
may need to either test one side only, or have the other side plugged off. I
use two gauges myself, one in each side, but Ameda also has a plug you can
get for one side and the gauge for the other.
