Dear Lactnetters, need some feedback on what other hospitals are doing for
protocols on such things as use of an sns, mastitis, etc for their hospitals.
I just took a job as a LC for a medium sized hospital with approx 170 births
per month. I will be the administrative and outpatient peds/FP LC working
with a LVN who is also a LC and a perinatal home health nurse, also a LC. She
visits 90-100 pts per month by herself and the LVN works on the PP ward. We
have a ton of info on BFFHI policies for early breastfeeding difficulties
from a hospital in Monterey. I am wondering if each hospital is using their
own policies or are we all reading from the same book ? Lisa M Mooney RN BSN
LC( hopefully in OCT to be IBCLC)
