Well pardon me for my backward attitude, but it seems to me that the more
kids are taught about sex the more kid pregnancies there seem to be. What
about the message "Sex is not for kids". Because sorry it is not. I think
that there is such a sing as a statutory rape. A 9 or a 12 or a 15 year old
can not consent freely to sex, even if it is with the same age partner.
Simply because they are not able to see the consequences of they're actions
clearly.
I agree that commercials selling motor oil and using almost naked women is a
problem. But so is the attitude that sex is just a "recreational activity".
Sorry, but my kids get the message that this is for adults only. At that,
married adults only.
At the same time I was treated to a full blown social worker "intervention"
last time I had a baby. Only because that was a baby #6. The computer
flagged me. And there was nothing I could say to make them go away and let
me rest.
Just for the record I was 37 at the time, married to the father of my child,
who is also the father of all my other children, and would not mind having
12 kids. And yes, the Depo was pushed on me by a few people to the point
where I felt harassed. My friend almost got a shot without the doctor
explaining what it was. The only thing that saved her was a needle phobia.
She demanded to know what were they trying to do. Is it a wonder that on the
busy postpartum floor I was the only mother nursing. The nurse told me that
Depo is routine. But they did not have kits for the pumps or lactation
consultants.
