Hi Pamela,

Found your post very interesting. In my area, many pediatricians won't
even look in the mouth and say "if the baby can drink from a bottle,
it isn't tongue tie." Babies that aren't putting on weight are given
expressed milk fortified with PIF. The doctors don't realize how
difficult it is to exclusively pump.

When I see a baby with posterior tongue tie, I'm finding that bodywork
is the only suggestion I can make after the doc won't refer on to an
ENT or the ENT says there is nothing to clip.

I feel I'm hitting my head against the wall and don't know where to go
from here.

Would you be willing to share the info sheet you give you parents? I
currently refer parents to websites with the info but the MDs aren't
on board.

I work for WIC so the families have limited income, medical assistance
for insurance and frequently have transportation issues so the visits
from one doctor to the other all resulting in a "No" are even more
frustrating.
