Jeffrey Fouche posted a letter in the digest 2/11. In it was the
statement "Breast milk is also able to protect babies from certain
illnesses and diseases, including SIDS (crib death)." Is this a fact? I
have read that there seems to be a lower occurence of SIDS in babies who
are nursed, but I have never seen any thing say that SIDS can be
prevented by breast milk. I don't mean to be negative about the letter,
as I support this effort. On the other hand, that particular statement
may be misleading to the layperson [like me :)].
