I have a mom of a 3 week-old baby who received a progesterone shot at about
10 days post-partum for "depression". She is struggling with her milk
supply (probably about 8 oz/day short) and I can't help wondering if this
has something to do with it. (Of course there are other issues...a sleepy,
undemanding baby...depressed and inexperienced mom...)

The FP who ordered it insists it is such a small dose ("nothing like
Depo-provera") that it shouldn't cause a problem...but it seems to me that
messing with the post-partum hormonal mileau can't be a good thing for
breastfeeding.

Has anyone else seen this done???

Thanks-
