This is not baby friendly but it was effective. I took some bottles from
the ward emptied them then refilled them with the above amounts. All
properly labelled. It took a little while to find something that resembled
milk but woulfn't go bad. In the end I used a locally made organic baby
lotion. I had to seal the bottles as well as label them as the staff kept
taking the lids off to see what I'd used inside! However they were a pretty
easy graphic demonstration. I also discuss the difference between
physiologic intake and possible intake. The difference between the amount
you are capable of eating and the amount you should be eating to be
healthy. I use the example of Thanksgiving dinner or some other festival
day. How would you feel if you ate that amount at every meal? It actually
turned things around pretty quickly.
