I also give them copies of and discuss their professional organizations bfing
statements. It really makes a difference when they see their entire
professional organization has written bfing support policies, etc. Most
professional organizations dealing with maternal/ infant issues have policy
statements ( I think!). I also ask them if they can think of any reason not
to adhere to the professional policies statements when they are in practice,
and give them some examples of misinformation, etc that does not follow the
policy statements.
