I too agree.  Virginia, well said.  Except for in a few situations every moment a mother is pumping is a moment she could be breastfeeding her baby or doing quiet relaxing skin-to-skin time.  

As far as the Code, unlike Medela I choose to be Code compliant.  The Code is the international minimal standard for protecting infant health.  The opposite of "to protect" is more often than not "to harm."
