I also watched Party of Five last night with my 21 year old daughter. I knew
it was about a premature birth so I was interested in seeing it. Other than
the night visit from the nurse, pediatrician and llc I thought it was well
done. We can only wish that three people were available to assist with
feedings! Since the audience is primarily teens and young adults I was pleased
to see breastfeeding portrayed as something that the mother was expected to
do. My favorite part was when the Mom wanted to pump and have the nurse give a
bottle. The nurse said "what do you want on your breast...your baby or a pump"?
My daughter baby-sat for a three month old yesterday. She came home and
went directly to the shower, exclaiming that she would never bottle feed due
to the smell of ABM. "How could anyone feed that stuff to a baby? I thought
the baby would have that good baby smell but she smelled awful." Smile.
