Hello! I'm hoping for some helpful tips.

I am a volunteer mother-to-mother breastfeeding counselor, currently
"between organizations." I have been doing this for 3 years.

I am also a family physician, recently back in private practice, seeing
moms and babies (not many yet, but hopefully more soon!). Wearing this
hat, I saw my first breastfeeding patient last week. I'm "lucky" in
that I'm able to bill as an MD ... but then I need the coding to back it
up. I used "Breast pain" for this consultation, b/c that was, in fact,
the main complaint. If I had seen the baby, I could have coded for the
labial and lingual frena found on exam. I am also looking for other
common codes - I only found breast pain and mastitis on a quick code search.

Anyone out there with a list of commonly used codes?

Thanks :)

Spencer ... who enjoyed the luxury of spending an hour+ with this
patient, b/c I saw her outside normal office hours, and who wonders how
things would go trying to squeeze a BF visit into a busy office schedule ...
