This is a nice example of information you do not want to know when you are
running a breeding program.  It is fun to test this kind of thing after the
breeding program is done, but not during the program.  The reason is
simple.  You get a result of some sort, fall in love with an idea, ignore
what your breeding results are showing and waste years chasing dead ends.
The end result is years of fooling around and spending a bunch of my tax
money without producing anything the commercial beekeepers are willing to
use.  We have now spent over 20 years making this same mistake over and
over when we should have solved the problem by now.   About all you really
accomplished is showing a bunch of students how to not run a breeding
program and clogging up the journals with papers that help no one.
