Just wanted to add a little more information on Ashley Montagu.
Important for us was his support of breastfeeding and home birth and he
took every occasion, even during his many appearances on the Johnny
Carson show, to talk about them. His British accent, disarming wit, and
carefully researched data provided important approval to the counter
cultural decisions many of us were making as mothers.
The last time we shared a stage was three years ago, and having been
friends for such a long time, he asked if I might shorten my talk and
give him some of my time because he had so much to say.  And he did!  At
91 years of age, he spoke for over an hour without a note in hand,
clearly and cogently.
Ashley Montagu was our friend and he will be missed.
