As a health care worker, accepting free gifts or samples from infant
formula companies, including such things as sponsoring of in-services on
topics totally unrelated to infant feeding -- is a VIOLATION OF THE WHO
CODE.

We all know that the WHO Code is not backed up by legislation in the US,
but President Clinton did sign it as being a good idea.  And the reason
gifts and samples are not allowed is because RESEARCH SHOWS THAT HEALTH
CARE WORKERS ARE INFLUENCED BY THEM.
