I agree with the previous points made that personal experience as a mom
or dad of a breastfed infant is valuable but not essential. I also
agree that personal experience with bottle feeding can be a negative
influence when the person is defensive on some level about their own
life history.
I'd like to add another personal level of experience. That is the
mother to mother support provided by other young and currently
breastfeeding mothers. I'm raising teenagers now and new mothers also
need to be around women their own age, who are currently facing the same
issues as them. I value LLL so much.
