Another nurse approached me from our home care agency and asked me about
obtaining breast milk for one of her clients.  Seems this woman has
irritable bowel syndrome and is unable to tolerate any food at all.  She
is home on hyperalimentation.  Both she and her husband are very
interested in exploring this option.  Of course I am thrilled.  First
that people are recognizing the wonder and miraculous nature of breast
milk, and second that I am being recognized and sought out amongst a sea
of adult nurses,  and outside our pediatric division (where my
interest/passion is duly noted).  I told this IV nurse that I would ask
the group to see what I could find.  We are looking for a milk bank that
would provide breast milk for an adult.  This couple does not have a
breast feeding friend/family member to obtain milk from.  PS  The agency
is VERY supportive of my efforts toward certification as an LC, even
paying for my CLC course this fall.  way too cool!  Is this one of those
times that I need to be e-mailed privately?  If so, go for it.  TIA
