Having lived in the South a large portion of my life (first Texas then 
Florida) I can say with some certainty that this is not just a "southern" 
thing.  Besides, I don't think those Belles and Debs would do anythang as 
vile as puttin' some ole machine up to their you know whats!  It would be far 
more southern to hire someone to do it for you ;Þ !
