Re: the thin charts of BF kids - used to see the same thing at WIC, daily
(and you can throw in Pat's observation about the kids in smokers' homes as
truth too); when I was fishing around for kids' charts, I could almost
predict by fatness or thinness of the chart whether this kid had been BF. In
fact, at WIC the exclusively BF babies' charts were usually just one sheet
of paper. Formula-fed 2nd-hand smokers' charts were all fat and
multi-colored and worn out from constant changes & additions & illnesses &
"high risk" notations & care plans. The file drawers for the clinics with
the highest proportions of smokers and non-BFers were so overstuffed they
often spilled over.

Re: padded butts & BF - well, what a cool concept! If rear ends were
predicters of milk supply, I would be the queen of all infant nourishment.
(My "dear" ex MIL's 1st comment to me after I had her 1st grandson by C/S
after a long nasty labor, was "With your hips, who'd have thought?") Gee, if
I'd known that bottom size was a predictor of supply, I would have become a
wet-nurse instead of an LC - probably more profitable!
