Just to let you know that our mom with ALS was released yesterday fully
breastfeeding and the baby, whose name is Meitar (pronounced May-tar),
which means guitar string because the mom used to play classical guitar,
was well on the way back to his birth weight..
I will be in close contact with them in the early weeks, and will keep
you up-dated. Believe it or not, this was one of the easier cases this
week.
I found that her determination and dedication despite all the odds
against her made it hard for me to be patient with other moms who were
ready to give up at the first minor inconvenience or discomfort, which
really is not fair on my part. When I spotted one of those little
bottles of that white chemical liquid hidden in several bassinets coming
into my breastfeeding class yesterday morning, I kind of ranted. Did my
desert island rampage. Survival shpeil.
We still have such a long way to go.
