The br. milk antibodies to things like measles wane as baby ages, hence
baby needs own MMR, same for tetanus etc. Having seen whooping cough in 2
infants I've become more firmly convinced of the necessity of
immunizations. Br milk antibodies seem to protect more against germs and
viruses that cause colds and ear aches and Gi upsets. I agree with Rob,
babies need their own personal set of immunizations. Do you realize that
we have practically wiped H. Flu (HIB) meningitis out in one decade by
immunizing babies? That is impressive. And I'm old enough to remember
the summer paranoia over polio. Thanks, but no thanks - I encourage
immunizations. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
