I have been watching all of the concern about using hypoallergenic formulas
on babies with bleeding, eczema, etc. If using the hypoallergenic formula
will fix the symptoms, why not feed the formula to mom and breastfeed the
baby? There should be several advantages:

1) I seem to recall one's sense of taste is less sensitive as one gets
older so the formula will not taste as bad to mom as it will to baby.
2) Baby will not be directly exposed to potential problems with formula.
3) If the formula does not "fix" the problem, breastfeeding will not have
been sacrificed.
4) Mom can add back foods gradually to see what triggers a reaction.
5) American adults are being encouraged in television commercials to drink
adult "formula" anyway.
