Elizabeth,

I too would be interested in this information. Of our four children, thus
far only
one has been diagnosed with Diabetes. Two participated in a study two years
ago
and we feel fairly safe that they won't get it. Youngest was a newborn then
and has
not been tested.

Son was strictly breastfed without any supplementation (no formula, juices,
food)
until 15 months (high allergy family). Started foods and juices at that
point
but refused cow's milk. Didn't push due to my and one other child's lactose
intolerance. Sometime after age 2 he started accepting small glasses of
milk.
He was diagnosed with IDDM at age 3 yrs 3 weeks.

Moms attending my LLL Meetings are often concerned about starting cows milk
or supplementing because of his history and things they've heard.

Thanks!
