  I have a mom who was diagnosed with "adreneal exhaustion" shortly after
the birth of her sixth child. With a very supportive physician and very
careful monitoring she has been able to continue nursing til 18 months.
She now feels like nursing (milk production) is too much for her body.
Although the baby only nurses for short periods about four times aday. It
seems that wouldn't be that much milk anyway. She does not want to deny
her toddler access to the breast. Her question was intriguing. She wanted
to know if a supplemental nursing device could be used to supply the baby
with milk (I don't know what sort of suplement she would use) at her
breast. I have not heard of this being used in a weaning  situation
before. Would it backfire and the nipple stimulatioin just continue her
own supply?  Would a baby that old use it? I had lots of suggestions for
a gradual weaning but this is certainly something I had never thought
about.
