I just had that happen to me.  Yes, it's disturbing!!  My nerd hubby says AOL
is reading something wierd in the Lactnet encoding script.  We need to write
AOL and tell them the problem is on their end.  It's typical of AOL to blame
someone else.  So - those of us with AOL difficulties can probably flood our
service provider and insist.

Or, change service providers....
