Yes, there are a few of us in South Africa who have joined your ranks. I
joined Lactnet some months ago but have been watching and waiting! Now I
need some help if possible - thanks.
I have been asked by a woman who is pregnant to check out the information
she has been given. She suffers from idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura
- apparently the (rare) genetic form.
She has been advised not to consider breastfeeding as this could prolong
the process of her recovery after the baby is born. Is this correct and,
if so, what is the phisiology?
