Twice in the past year I've seen newborns who were feeding only so-so,
became jaundiced, had their positioning/management improved, and went on to
do fine. But as they were recovering from the jaundice they had one or
more *really* green stools. Both times the mom told me she had been told
that can happen - that it's a result of bili excretion.
The notion of green being linked to jaundice was new to me. For each baby,
intake was fine and stools were ample at the time that the green occurred.
Stools then switched back to yellow. Have others heard of this?
