I am working with a young mother that had a bilateral mastectomy a few years
ago for cancer. Her baby was premature and they finally went home this week.
She has been pumping from the beginning and nursing well when with the baby.
Has anyone worked with a Mom with a mastectomy and were there any difficulties
producing adequate milk with one breast. While pumping she was only able to
produce 1-1/2 ounces if lucky. Her frequency, liquids, food intake had been
poor for a while in the beginning and has made an attempt to improve all that.
Thanks in advance
Sharon
