Hi,
First off, lose the hairdryer. Hairdryers may feel nice bc of the warmth,
but they dry the skin too fast and can cause problems with healing.
Everything else sounds good though. Sometimes, as I learned from personal
experience, if the damage is deep, it may take quite a while for full
healing to occur. Healing works from the inside out so the best thing for
her to do is keep being careful, airdry the nipple and wait. As long as
healing progress has been noted, I would think that she won't have too much
longer to wait. As far as the dimple is concerned, Chele Marmett of
Lactation Institute has a little "thing" called a dimple ring which may
help. Is this mom using sore nipple shells or inverted nipple shells? If
you cannot get a dimple ring, then maybe the inverted nipple shells will
help "pop" the nipple out more so that it can airdry and heal in the center.
Hope some of this helps!
