hi, lactnetters,
        sorry for the delay, but i was waiting to see if someone could
offer a more formulaic answer to the question about how much expressed
breast milk a baby would/could/should eat. the old
breastfeeding answer book actually had a formula, the new book says 2-4
ozs about 8-12 times a day (pg 210). so that varies from a minimum of 16
oz to 48 oz; allows for a lot of difference in these little guys.
        in comparison w/ formula, butte 1984 says breastfed babies consume
25% fewer calories than comparable age/size babies.
