A few months ago when I was working as physiotherapist in the local
hospital's ICU, a woman was hospitalized following an emergency
C-section with a tragic outcome.   When the nurses in the ICU brought
her cabbbage leaves to relieve engorgement, she said that this treatment
was familiar to her because it is mentioned in the Talmud.  (she
couldn't remember exactly where).   Do any of you know of this
reference?
