Gosh, you guys were certainly busy yesterday! Wow!
Don't you think that the co-sleeping issue is less of a SIDS (in the mind of
the public - a good excuse to make babies go into their own beds) concern and
more of a "this is a terrible habit" because "babies need to be independent"
and "parents need their freedom" (read: sex)? It is another way for parents
to withdraw from the child... One can then use SIDS as an excuse. Now,
notice the research that James McKenna did on co-sleeping hasn't hit the NY
Times advocating it (though there was a little tiny article on the benefits
of co-sleeping in the Women's section of the Sunday Chicago Tribune awhile
back).
