It isn't just humans that are encouraged to consume large amounts of
dairy throughout their lives.
In the pet food section of my local supermarket, I noticed cartons of
pet milk!!! This is basically cow's milk with lactase added, so that
the milk is claimed to be lactose free so that it won't upset the
pet's digestion. The blurb on the carton said something to the effect
that 'your pet can enjoy the treat of milk just as much as you do'.
It costs about twice as much as regular milk!!!
I think I'll leave my dog dairy free.
