A little funny - but absolutely true
A month or so ago a friend of mine went to visit someone with a new
litter of kittens. One of the kittens was very small and had a discharge
in it's eyes. So my friend (a nursing mother) called me for advice. My
recommendations:
a- make sure that the small kitten was given access to a teat used by one
of the bigger ones for a few feedings/days
b- try to squirt some of the mother's milk into the affected eyes.
Guess what - both suggestions worked. So now I can proudly call myself a
feline lactation consultant as well. (Have I had enough practice hours? :)
