Sorry to be the second (or third or forth)to burst you bubble.
I too received the "invitation" to be a part of the delegation to attend the
tour to Russia and Romania. The word delegation implies a group of people
representing a particular organization. There is no mention on their letter
that the "delegation" will be doing that. The term "mailing list" comes to
mind here.
The Citizen Abroad program is not a new one. These same people "invited" my
daughter to be part of a "delegation" of high school students to travel to
Europe at great expense a few years ago. Seeing this as a great oportunity
for our daughter, my husband and daughter attended a meeting put on by these
people and it was clear very early into the presentation that this is a
commercial enterprise.
There may be nothing wrong with the tour,in fact it may be a wonderful, once
in a life time tour. But I don't think it is.
Have any of the subscribers to this list ever heard of "The Center for
Breastfeeding"? What is it? Who runs it? Who is Jerry Smith, their
director of medical programs (what medical programs), or Karin Cadwell (at
least she is IBCLC)?
If any of you go, please let us know all about it. Personally, I think that
you are better off spending your money on LLL, ILCA, NMAA and other "known"
conferences.
