Hi All,
Jay SImpson here. Got a call from Karen Evon who needs some help ASAP.
Here is the story...

Mom has a nose job (don't know when) but the plastic surgeon botched the
job. Of course he will fix it for free. Mom is currently BF a 5 mo old
baby. Plastic Sur. says that he will NOT fix the botched nose unless mom
weans. Reason? Because the body acts differently and heals differently
while BF and therefore it is unsafe to do this type of surgery while a woman
is BF. THis is what the Plastic surgeon told the mom! So he is insisting
that she wean the baby right away. As a side note (but an important one)
mom is also getting pressure from hubby and family to wean the baby, but
Mom's heart tells her NO WAY.
So, what we need are any articles, references, etc., that mom can show to
the Plas Sur that will tell him that it is OK to do his work on a BF mom.
Of course I have thought of other options for the mom:
Get a 2nd opinion from a better Dr
Tell the Dr she has weaned even tho she hasn't
Tell the Dr to put it where the sun don't shine and sue for malpractice
etc, etc,

Anyway, please e-mail any responses to my private address [log in to unmask] as
I have yet to get back onto Lactnet.

TIA!!
Jay
