Lactnetters may be interested to know that the Nursing Mothers'
Association of Australia (NMAA) was founded in 1964 by an OT (Mary
Paton) with several friends, also OTs.

Perhaps because they were OTs working in psych, and not paediatrics,
they were more tuned into the benefits of the breast.

Ros Escott, IBCLC and closet OT
who learnt nothing about breast or bottle in her OT training
