Hi!

I have just subscribed to LACTNET after reading the Archives for several
weeks. I understand that I am supposed to introduce myself. I am a
fairly new La Leche League Leader (June '96). I have one child (son)
who is 2.5 years and nursing. I am also a Chiropractor; however, I am
primarily at home with my son. Well, I hope this will suffice as an
introduction.

Here's the situation. A mom in our group is nursing her 14 mo who has
only his two top teeth. He is not "biting" her in the classic sense,
but his teeth are abrading the tissue to the point where it bleeds. The
mom has had mastitis and these wounds cause a great deal of pain while
nursing. She wanted to do baby lead weaning; however, she is now
considering weaning because of this problem. Any suggestions?

Thank you.
