I am in Hermosillo Sonora Mexico visiting Vladimira Alcaraz Ortega and his
hospital infantil Del Estado De Sonora. The have about 7000 deliveries a
year and have 100% breast feeding rate. They are a certified baby friendly
hospital. I met a mother just after csection delivery laying on a gurney
nursing her baby. This is a first time in a real baby friendly hospital. It
is an emotional experience not just hearing about it but actually seeing it
in person. There is no such thing as a nursery here. All babies are with
their mothers at all times. It is truely incredible and something we in the
USA should envy.
