Here is my suggestion and I am open to others as well. I go to the INDEX in
my LLL Question and Answer Book and find the appropriate page and then write
in the margin the bare facts of the postings. For example, on page 175,
which is the Reference page for sore nipples, I have written:" Nov 26'96
Lactnet from Janna Frelich on herpes sores:
remedies are: avoiding chocolate, eating lots of yogurt, supplementing with
lysine and/or acidophilis for a few days".....etc. I think this will work
because, first of all it is a good review just to read what is in the text;
and then the notations that I have made allow me to retreive the original
within the Archives if I want to look it up in detail sometime in the future.
I also have started an address book in which I am writing down Lactnetter's
e mail addresses. Can somebody tell me if I am able to highlight text (I'm
on windows ) AOL and just save parts of the postings in files? Appreciate
your answer in computer-friendly talk as I am a neophyte computer person.
Also thanks to Marsha for her reply to my vigorous suctioning question. The
next day, mom reported baby had started to suck. She is a third time nursing
mom and I am confident that she and the baby will do just fine. I knew about
the 24 hour sleepy time for some babies but just wondered about what the
basis is for the statements passed around at conferences about interventions
and the effects on effective breastfeeding, vigorous suctioning being one of
the interventions given.

Thanks, Kathy Bodden
