Hi,
I am new to this list. As a student nurse midwife I am working with a
lactation specialist. She has asked me to get help with one of our clients.
This women is breastfeeding her seven month old. On Tuesday she ate some raw
chicken (at a barbecue). Wednesday morning she developed cramps and diarrhea.
Her doctor told her to pump and dump. His concern was either an e-coli or
salmonella infection. SHe called looking for advice about how long she needed
to dispose of her milk and not wanting to wean. Any comments or advice would
be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kathy Sheldon, SNM
