Dear Lactnetters,
I've been asked by a family practitioner (who doesn't have time to sit at
her computer and keep up with Lactnet) to ask for suggestions of care (ie:
diet, medication, herbal, acupuncture, etc) of frequent migraine headaches
and breastfeeding. She has two different patients due to delivery soon,
who are headache free with their pregnancies (one woman has asked if she
could stay pregnant forever), but are very concerned if the migraines will
return after delivery. Both women are primips in late 20's, had no
difficulty conceiving, and are committed to breastfeeding. One woman has
severe food allergies on the husband's side. Both women have had migraine
headaches since their teens. I do not know what treatment plan for the
migraines either woman followed prior to their pregnancy. Any and all
comments/suggestions would be most appreciated. TIA!
