My ongoing experience with a mother with inflammatory breast cancer,
diagnosed in her first pregnancy,at 34 weeks, and now fulminating, 7 months
later despite all the aggressive treatments available......has led me to many
interesting discoveries, and hopefully some action..

An editorial in our SOIL& HEALTH magazine, Oct/Nov 1994, "The Breast
Cancer Racket" quotes a Dr Samuel Epstein who had recently lecture toured NZ.
" Firstly, the carcinogenicity of the organochlorine pesticides......has
been known
since the late 60s. ... Three major studies of women with breast cancer
have shown
excess of these organochlorines and also PCBs in breasts with cancer, as
opposed to those without cancer.
"In the mid-70s the Israeli Ministry of Health forced a major reduction
in levels
of organochlorine pesticide residue contaminants in dairy products and
related foods
and what we saw then was a major decrease in premenopausal mortality from
breast cancer. (30% reduction).
Israel in fact is the only Western style democracy in the world which has
achieved
a drop in breast cancer. Every other country in this category has shown a
steady rise in breast cancer.
The editor goes on to question the unhealthy links between commercial
establishments, and funded medical research.

Please could our esteemed Israeli lactnetters verify this statement? I'm getting
fired up, but would like to be correct!
