Hi All,
I need some advice for a client of ours. She has a 21 month old boy who
is still totally breastfed. He eats no solids except occasional french
fries, sips of water from a cup, etc. He's always been a very high
needs baby and mom's response has been to do whatever he needed, which
has not been a problem for the family until now. She would very much
like to be pregnant again but with the child nursing about 12x daily
including 2-4x at night that isn't happening.
She's looking for advice on ways to encourage him to eat more so he'll
cut down on nursing and hopefully stimulate ovulation. We've suggested
including him in meals, providing lots of food on his high chair tray,
etc. My midwife thinks she needs to go away but they are looking for
other ideas. TIA for your help for this mom.
