General Question to anyone...I have always wondered if babies born at
home have trouble nursing. Do lactation consultatants or lll leaders
see these moms for the same problems that show up with hospital
births?
I have seen lots of moms for problems but they were all hospital
births. Do midwives solve these problems (if they are occuring?)
before they get worse? I've been a lll leader for almost 16 yrs and
have never had a home birth mom show up on my doorstep. I have had
moms who tried a home birth & ended up a hospital for major
intervention (including drugs) have major problems.
Out of my 5 home birthed babies, only one (the third) needed two
weeks training to "unstick" his tongue to the roof of his mouth....I
did not consider it a problem and just needed more patience to latch
him on. All nursed immediately, well, with no problems.
Just wondering...... Karen Graham
