Hi, Melissa V. I've missed Lactnet, you and all the gang, and
hope that I can stay back on.
Your story about the stressed preemie twin calming down when her
sister was allowed to "cuddle" her in the same incubator makes
enormous sense. Kudos to the nurse who thought of this "therapy".
They shared the uterus-incubator for months, didn't they? A
person's history doesn't start at birth....we all know how a
fetus learns (and can be traumatized, too) in utero, so IMHO, it
can be taken for granted that twins will feel enormous confusion,
fear and anxiety when separated upon birth.
Stating the obvious to "the choir", again. Regards to all, Judy
Knopf in Beer Sheva, Israel
