I recently had a phone call from a mother who wanted to take Melatonin (for
sleep problems). She would take it once a day, in the evening. Baby is six
months old and does not breastfeed at night. When I asked her about her
sleep problems she mentioned that she has also taken Tylenol pm and wondered
about this also. She says that she is concerned about the baby and that's
why she can't sleep. The baby wakes up at night once and is patted back to
sleep. Other than suggesting that she consider sleeping with the baby, or in
the same room--has anyone heard about melatonin and breastmilk?
